What is pre-service teacher?

Pre-service teachers are individuals who are currently enrolled in a teacher education program or completing required coursework to become a licensed teacher. These individuals may have completed their Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field and are pursuing a certification to teach at a specific grade level or subject area. Pre-service teachers typically engage in practical experiences such as student teaching, in which they work alongside an experienced teacher in a classroom setting. They may also participate in observation days, simulations, and other opportunities to gain real-world insights into the teaching profession. Pre-service teachers are expected to demonstrate proficiency in subject knowledge, pedagogy, and classroom management skills in order to successfully earn their teaching certification.
